The modern consumer doesn’t just want a great product. They want to feel great when they buy that product too. This is especially the case when purchasing healthy foods, exercise gear and other ‘wellness’ products. This is why, alongside the small matter of helping to save the world, some brands are investing in biodegradable packaging that can be added to the compost bin along with food waste.

While biodegradable paper and cardboard packaging has been on our shelves for a while, some innovative brands are now turning to newly developed biodegradable plastics. In collaboration with food packaging designer TIPA, snack brand Snact has developed robust, flexible, plastic packaging that is 100% compostable.

Why is the packaging such a perfect fit for Snact? The vegan-friendly, gluten-free product can already boast that it is created completely from unwanted surplus fruit and vegetables. They are an ethical brand that wants to make a difference, and as such the consumers they target are likely to be like-minded. Not only is their use of biodegradable packaging great for the environment, but it’s also the perfect way to develop a stronger connection with green snackers by being both innovative and environmentally friendly.
